Greater Glasgow & Clyde Panel

Public Views

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde provided the Panel with four summary papers on different aspects of their proposals:

More detail about the proposals was contained in a paperPDF document which was considered at a meeting of the Health Board in June 2007.

The Panel considered whether the Health Board had taken proper account of the views that were expressed by local individuals and communities when it was developing its proposals. The Scottish Health Council prepared a report for the Panel to consider, which set out how the Health Board had involved the public in the process to date.

The Panel was also keen to hear the views of local people directly. It wanted to know what aspects of the Health Board’s proposals people were happy, or unhappy with, and why. There were two ways in which local people could give the Panel their views:

1. By attending a public meeting. The Panel organised a public meeting in the three areas most affected by the Board's proposals. Meetings took place between 7.30pm and 9pm on the following dates:

  • Thursday 1st November – Greenock
  • Thursday 8th November – Paisley
  • Wednesday 14th November – Dumbarton

2. By sending their views in writing for the Panel’s consideration.
